Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 -- The demand for caste-based census and removal of 50 per cent cap on reservation gained momentum again with the Odisha government tabling a resolution in this regard in the State Assembly on Thursday.

The resolution was tabled in the House by the SC & ST Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Jagannath Saraka amid ruckus by Opposition parties.

The House will now send the resolution to the Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes from where it will be sent to the Centre.
