Bhubaneswar, Jan. 13 -- Bhubaneswar: A day after receiving Covid-19 vaccine Covishield from Serum Institute of India in Pune, the first consignment of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin dispatched from Hyderabad landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in the capital city on Wednesday morning.

As many as 20,000 doses of the vaccine, jointly developed by Bharat Biotech and Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) arrived in Bhubaneswar today, said sources.

After its arrival at the airport, packets containing the Covaxin vials were escorted by security forces to the National Vaccine Van and then brought to the State Vaccine Store (SVS) in Bhubaneswar.
