Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- In a significant development in the Choudwarjail escape case, Madhukant Rana, a criminal from Bihar who had escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail, has been taken on a six-day police remand for intensive interrogation.

The court granted permission for the remand to enable investigators to uncover the full details surrounding the daring jailbreak and subsequent escape across state borders.

According to police sources, Rana was arrested two days ago from Vrindavan following a coordinated operation. After being brought back to Odisha, investigators sought his custody to question him regarding the sequence of events that led to the escape and the possible involvement of accomplices.
