Angul, Jan. 21 -- Body of a minor girl was recovered near Dakhina Kali temple in Kangula village in the district on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as Shrusti Maharana (12), daughter of Saroj Maharana of Kangula village.
According to sources, the minor girl was on her way to meet her father when the accused, identified as Anam Dehury of the same village, allegedly kidnapped the girl and later killed her.
After the incident, father of the girl lodged a police complaint at the Angul police station. Based on the complaint, Angul SP, SDPO and Inspector In-Charge of Angul police reached the spot along with a forensic team and initiated a probe into the incident.
