Bhubaneswar, May 2 -- Counting of votes to the legislative assemblies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala & the union territory of Puducherry began today at 8 am. The elections were held amid a massive surge in Covid-19 cases across the country.

Exit polls conducted by several television news networks have predicted a neck-and-neck contest between the TMC and BJP is Bengal while the DMK-Left-Congress alliance's victory in Tamil Nadu.

Similarly, predictions are there that the BJP and the the Left Democratic Front (LDF) will get a second term in Assam and Kerala, respectively.
