Bhubaneswar, Jan. 10 -- Payal, an 18-year-old girl from Gayatripada village under Hatibandha Gram Panchayat under Sinapali block in Nuapada district is living a life of confinement due to her mental disabilities. Losing her mother at two months old, she was left without parental care after her father remarried and moved away.

Payal has been under the care of her maternal grandparents, Gayadhar and Pramila Meher. Despite medical treatment at multiple hospitals, including facilities in Ranchi, her condition showed little improvement.
