Rourkela, Jan. 9 -- Unidentified miscreants allegedly set house of a labour union leader on fire in Jhirpani area of Odisha's Rourkela city last night.

Though the family of the victim, identified as Gangpur Mazdoor Manch leader Chakradhara Mahanta, escaped unhurt, three scooters and a motorcycle were gutted in the fire. Two coolers were also damaged in the incident.

The wrongdoers reportedly locked the doors of the house from outside and set the vehicles on fire when the family members were sleeping inside the house.

On being informed, Fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flames. Police have started investigation into the incident.
