Bhubaneswar, Oct. 17 -- A week after an Odisha Forest Service (OFS) officer was given premature retirement, a police official was sent on compulsory retirement for corruption. Sub-Inspector Banamali Nayak posted at Khurda Police Headquarter has been axed, informed Khurda SP Ajay Pratap Swain today.

Swain further said that two vigilance cases are pending against Nayak at Puri and Jankia police stations.

On October 10, the State government had ordered premature retirement of OFS officer Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra on charges of corruption. He was placed under suspension on February 25, 2016 following his arrest in the disproportionate asset case.
