AMRAVATI, Jan. 27 -- The Andhra Pradesh cabinet passed a resolution on Monday and cleared the process to abolish the State Legislative Council. Such a proposal will also be brought in the Vidhan Sabha and it will be sent to the Center for necessary action. The YSR Congress is in a minority in Andhra's 58-member council with nine members. There are 28 members of the opposition Telugu Desam Party.
The ruling party will get a majority in the house in 2021.
