NEW DELHI, Jan. 27 -- The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has filed an application in the Supreme Court on Monday to become a party to the petitions challenging the polygamy prevalent in the Muslim community and the constitutional validity of Nikah Halala. The Muslim Personal Law Board said in its application that the Supreme Court had already looked into the issue of polygamy and nikah halala in 1997 and refused to consider the petitions filed in connection with it.
