KOLKATA, Nov. 20 -- The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday acquitted 72-year-old woman Kavita Paine, a resident of Hooghly, after acquitting her for 16 years in prison for her husband's murder.
A division bench of Justice Jayamalya Bagchi and Justice Shubham Ghosh has ordered the release of the woman. Actually, Tapas Pine died in September 1996.
His wife Kavita Pine was accused of murder. During investigation, it was found that Tapas used to come home drunk every day and used to beat his wife.
On the night of 23 September 1996, Tapas came drunkenly in this way and was killing Kavita. Kavita calls her son Mrigank to avoid him.
