New Delhi, July 15 -- The Axiom-4 crew, which was launched last month on the 25th of June from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre, concluded its mission aboard the International Space Station after completing over 250 orbits of Earth and traveling more than six million miles, over a period of 18 days.

Axiom-4 mission pilot, India's Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, and three other astronauts entered the Dragon Grace spacecraft as they prepared for their journey back home.

The hatch of the Dragon Grace spacecraft that connected it to the International Space Station was closed at 2:37 PM IST.

The undocking was completed at 1645 IST. The splashdown is expected to take place off the coast of California at 3:01 pm IST on Tuesday.
