New Delhi, Sept. 12 -- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that the government is laying greater emphasis on reforms and, over the last 11 years, around 1,600 obsolete laws have been repealed. Dr. Singh said that the government has a forward-looking vision and is promoting good practices.

He added that by 2047, efforts are being made to transform the country into a developed nation through sector-specific reforms. Dr. Singh was addressing the inaugural session of a two-day National Conference on Holistic Development of Districts.
