New Delhi, Jan. 12 -- New Delhi continues to reel under an intense cold spell as temperatures plunge sharply across the national capital.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded at Delhi's Safdarjung Observatory on Monday stood at 3.2 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the mercury dipped even further to 2.9 degrees, with Ayanagar recording the lowest temperature in the city.

Dense fog has added to the winter woes, significantly impacting visibility across several parts of Delhi.
