New Delhi, Jan. 5 -- The leaders of Denmark and Greenland have urged the United States to stop "threatening" Greenland, after U.S. President Donald Trump told media he "absolutely" needed the territory, a day following Washington's seizure of the Venezuelan leader.

Washington's military intervention in Venezuela has reignited fears regarding Greenland, which President Trump has repeatedly indicated he wants to annex.

Those concerns were highlighted by Donald Trump's remarks to The Atlantic and a social media post by Katie Miller, wife of his deputy chief of staff, which depicted Greenland in the colors of the U.S. flag.
