New Delhi, June 26 -- In a major education reform aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Class 10 board exams twice annually starting 2026. The new policy aims to reduce high-stakes pressure, ease student burdens, and promote flexible, joyful, and stress-free learning.

According to the official CBSE circular, the first exam, covering the full syllabus, will be held in mid-February and will be mandatory for all students. Those who pass may opt for a second exam in May to improve scores in up to three subjects, providing learners with an important second chance to enhance their results.
