New Delhi, July 11 -- Indian comedian Kapil Sharma's newly launched restaurant, KAP'S CAFE, in Surrey, Canada, came under gunfire late Wednesday night.

Preliminary reports indicate that multiple rounds were fired at the premises, though no injuries have been reported.

Authorities swiftly sealed off the area, and an investigation is currently underway.

The cafe had only recently opened and was quickly becoming a popular spot among the Indian diaspora in Canada.

As of now, Kapil Sharma has not issued any public statement on the incident.

Local journalists are now demanding that the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, step up security.
