New Delhi, Oct. 18 -- The Court of Appeals in Belgium's Antwerp has issued a preliminary judgment allowing the extradition of fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi to India.

The case was filed by India's investigative agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation. The court rejected Choksi's appeal against extradition, marking the first legal success for Indian authorities in their ongoing efforts to bring him back to face trial. Choksi now has 15 days to challenge the ruling before the Belgian Supreme Court.
