New Delhi, March 8 -- Shrikant Moghe, a veteran Marathi actor has died following an age-related ailment on Saturday at his Pune home. He was 91.

Shrikant was well known for his work in both Marathi and Hindi dialects, in movies and theater. He was known for his Marathi films such as Madhuchandra, Sinhaasan, Gammat Jammat and Umbaratha, and plays like Varyavarchu Varaat and Tuze Aahe Tujapashi

Moghe further got recognition for his long relationship in theatre with Pu La Deshpande, who acted in many of his plays. Shantanu Moghe and Priya Moghe, Shrikant Moghe's son and daughter in law are also actors. Sudhir Moghe's brother of Shrikant, who passed in 2014, was a famous poet-lyricist.
