New Delhi, May 10 -- Maldives was rocked by an act of terrorism. On May 6, Maldives' first democratically elected president and current Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed was injured in a blast near his home. Home Minister Imran Abdulla told a local television that Nasheed's injuries were not life-threatening and that the government will get the assistance of foreign agencies in the investigations. On May 7, the Maldives police said that an explosion that wounded former President Mohamed Nasheed and four others including a British national was an act of terrorism and they are attempting to identify four possible suspects.
