New Delhi, March 28 -- The threat of spreading the novel Coronavirus has intensified as thousands of daily wage earners, poor, labourers have begun to move back to their native places, mostly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, sometimes hundreds of kilometres away from their place of work, negating Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's call for complete lockdown for 21-days.

The move comes as they have been hit hard by the lockdown that has been imposed from March 24 midnight till April 14, drying their source of income. Thousands of poor and migrant labourers, as well as semi-skilled workers, over the last two-three days, have been seen crossing the Delhi border on National Highway 24.
