New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- In Pool A of the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship, Hungary defeated Germany 29-28 after trailing 14-15 at halftime. Hungary finished top of Group A while Germany finished second. Uruguay was the third team from the group to make it to the next round as it was awarded a 10-0 defeat over Cape Verde, which did not turn up due to COVID cases. Cape Verde had to withdraw from the tournament, after not having the minimum of players available, due to several cases of players who tested positive for COVID-19
