Kathmandu, Aug. 26 -- F allout from the controversial Sarbottam Cement shares scandal has prompted Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) CEO Chandra Singh Saud to resign. Investigations by Himalkhabar and carried in this paper this month had exposed the alleged involvement of Saud and Nepal Securities Board Chairman Bhishma Raj Dhungana in insider trading on Sarbottam stocks just as the IPO was being launched. "I am announcing my resignation as CEO effective today to assist with the probing, as I have not abused my position." Saud said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, FNCCI Senior Vice President Chandra Dhakal also resigned from his position as a member of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on Wednesday.
