Mumbai, Jan. 22 -- Volkswagen over-fulfils its ambitious European CO2 fleet targets for 2020, producing around six million grams fewer CO2 than required by law.

The company's new passenger vehicle achieved an average CO2 emission of 92g/km, 5gm/km lesser than the required level. This helped reduce CO2 emissions by twenty-two percent in comparison to previous years.

Between 2020 and 2024, the company plans to invest more thaneleven billion eurosinto electric mobility, transform further production facilities and introduce 20 new fully electric models by 2025. The company also managed to deliver more electric vehicles in 2020 than ever before. A total of 134,000 EVs were sold in 2020 of which the ID.3 sold 56,500 units.
