Rabat, March 21 -- The Royal Moroccan Football Federation ( FRMF ) announced it received a letter from FIFA to approve Moroccan-Dutch football player Oussama Idrissi's request to represent Morocco instead of the Netherlands.

On March 18, FRMF said that the footballer, who currently plays for the Dutch Az Alkmaar football club, would play with the Atlas Lions against Malawi on Friday, March 22.

The game is Morocco's final qualifier match of the Africa Cup of Nations ( CAN ). Morocco has already qualified for the competition.

Idrissi will also be in the lineup of the Moroccan team playing a friendly game against Argentina on March 26.
