New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi landed in New Delhi today, 9 October, days after the UN Security Council's Taliban Sanctions Committee approved an exemption to the travel ban imposed on the Taliban leader.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal welcomed Muttaqi on his arrival in New Delhi on Thursday. "We look forward to engaging discussions with him on bilateral relations and regional issues," Jaiswal said in a post on X.

Muttaqi's visit to India at the invitation of the Foreign Minister S Jaishankar would be the first ministerial visit from Kabul to New Delhi after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
