New Delhi, Nov. 4 -- A three-time Oscar-nominated actress Diane Ladd, 89, who played roles in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Wild at Heart and Rambling Rose, died on November 3, Monday at her home in California's Ojai. Ladd's daughter, Laura Dern, confirmed the news in a statement, where she called her mother "amazing hero" and "profound gift of a mother".

The cause of death remains unknown.

"She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artiste and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now," PTI quoted Laura as saying.
