New Delhi, May 4 -- Krishnamurthy V. Subramanian, a seasoned economist and former Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) to the Government of India, has been abruptly recalled from his role as India's Executive Director (ED) at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), six months before the completion of his three-year term. The move, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), was announced via an official order dated April 30, 2025, and took effect immediately.
