New Delhi, May 25 -- Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is currently leading a parliamentary panel visiting Guyana, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, and the United States, may have taken a dig at Donald Trump. In an old video that has surfaced on X, Shashi Tharoor is seen wryly remarking, "political heft, statesman-like gravitas, and intellectual quality lacking in this particular gentleman," when asked about then US presidential contender Donald Trump.

The viral video is a snippet from a conversation between the Congress MP and Aroon Purie at the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) International's New York chapter, held in September 2024.
