New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- The Pakistan cricket team have been instructed to boycott their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against India in Colombo on February 15, following a directive from the Government of Pakistan. The development came just after Pakistan whitewashed Australia at home in a T20I series and less than week left before the mega event, hosted by India.
In a post on their X handle on Sunday, the Government of Pakistan stated, "The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026; however, the Pakistan Cricket Team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February 2026 against India."
