Mumbai rains, May 28 -- The financial capital and suburbs, including Thane and Navi Mumbai, received heavy showers on Wednesday, a day after the Regional Meteorological Centre issued a red alert for Mumbai, predicting heavy showers.
Mumbai and the suburbs received heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in isolated areas. Following the rains, normal life across the city has been disrupted, raising concerns over Mumbai's monsoon preparedness.
Stormy weather affected the isolated areas of Badlapur, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Dombivali, and Thane, leading to waterlogging. People have been advised not to venture outside.
