New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- An American Airlines flight collided midair with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (local US time) while landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This is almost the same type of incident that took place 43 years ago when a commercial flight crashed shortly after takeoff from Washington National Airport, said Federation Aviation Administration.

According to FAA, on 13 January 1982, Air Florida Flight 90, a Boeing Model 737-200 series airplane, crashed shortly after takeoff from Washington National Airport, Washington, D.C.
