Wall Street Today, March 12 -- The US stock market's main indexes witnessed choppy trading on Wednesday, March 12, amid concerns about the potential economic implications of an escalating global trade war, which eclipsed data showing US inflation cooled in February. US scrips were shaky after leaping to a big initial gain on the positive US inflation update. However, the market soon shed all early gains, extending its losing streak for the third straight session.

The S&P 500 was initially down 0.3 per cent in midday trading after erasing an initial leap of 1.3 per cent. The unsettled trading comes one day after the frontline index fell more than 10 per cent below its all-time high set last month.
