New Delhi, July 4 -- The US House of Representatives on Thursday (July 3) approved President Donald Trump's $3.4 trillion tax and spending bill, overcoming unified Democratic opposition and clearing the way for Trump to sign into law.
The legislation, dubbed by Trump as the "Big Beautiful Bill," passed largely along party lines in the Republican-controlled chamber. The final vote followed nearly nine hours of debate, punctuated by House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries' record-setting 8-hour, 46-minute speech condemning the bill as "an all-out assault on hard-working Americans."
