New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- The US Senate on Thursday (October 16) rejected, for the 10th time, a House Republicans' short-term government funding bill aimed at reopening the federal government. The vote failed 51-45, falling short of the 60 votes needed to advance under Senate filibuster rules.
Senate Democrats have maintained that they will not back down from demands that Congress address health care benefits as part of any funding deal.
