New Delhi, April 9 -- The tariff war between US and China only seems to be escalating y the day as both nations impose extensive duties on each other's goods. In response to the U.S. raising tariffs on Chinese imports to a staggering 104%, Beijing has retaliated by imposing an additional 84% tariff on American goods. Washington hit back at Xi Jinping government calling them the 'offenders in the international trading system'.

"China's move to impose 84% retaliatory tariffs against the United States is unfortunate and a losing proposition for Beijing," US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Wednesday.
