New Delhi, March 19 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is holding a highly anticipated conversation with US President Donald Trump to discuss the details of a recent phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The president of Ukraine is having a conversation by telephone with US President Donald Trump," Zelenskyy's spokesman Sergiy Nykyforov told reporters.

White House also confirmed President Donald Trump has begun a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky had said on Wednesday that a vow by Russian President Vladimir Putin of not to attack energy infrastructure was "very much at odds with reality" following an overnight barrage of drone strikes across the country.
