New Delhi, Jan. 23 -- US President Donald Trump on Friday shot off a thank you note to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, hours after TikTok and its parent ByteDance formed a joint venture to transfer parts of its American business to software giant Oracle, private equity firm Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi-based investment firm MGX.

"I am so happy to have helped in saving TikTok! It will now be owned by a group of Great American Patriots and Investors, the Biggest in the World, and will be an important Voice," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, celebrating the deal.
