New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- Textile stocks in India slipped on Thursday after the additional 25% US tariffs on Indian imports took effect, hitting the export-oriented sectors the most.
KPR Mill, Trident, Vardhman Textiles, Arvnid, Welspun Living, Gokaldas Exports, Pearl Global Industries, among other textile stocks, slipped over 2%.
The US President has signed an executive order imposing an additional 25% tariff on Indian imports, raising the total duty to 50% on several goods, including textiles and apparel, effective August 27.
