New Delhi, Jan. 10 -- Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is serving a four-year federal prison sentence for prostitution-related crimes, has asked US President Donald Trump for a pardon, but Trump has said he does not intend to grant clemency to the hip-hop mogul.

Trump, in an interview with The New York Times published on Thursday (January 8), said Combs had written to him seeking a pardon but that he was "not inclined" to approve the request.

The 56-year-old music executive was convicted last year on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. A jury acquitted Combs of the most serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.
