New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he was directing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to send troops to protect 'war-ravaged Portland' and federal immigration facilities.
"At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Trump had earlier said Saturday he will send troops to Portland, Oregon, to handle "domestic terrorists" as he expands his controversial deployments to more American cities.
