New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social that he spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 2, 2026, and announced a series of agreements on trade and energy that he said would strengthen ties between the United States and India and help end the war in Ukraine.

"It was an Honor to speak with Prime Minister Modi, of India, this morning. He is one of my greatest friends and, a Powerful and Respected Leader of his Country," Trump wrote. "We spoke about many things, including Trade, and ending the War with Russia and Ukraine."
