New Delhi, April 29 -- Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have played a pivotal role in supporting India's equity markets, driving liquidity and market depth. In particular, FIIs-buoyed by India's strong economic fundamentals and corporate earnings outlook-have steadily increased their exposure.

In March 2025, FIIs turned net buyers in Indian equities, reversing the outflow trend seen earlier in the year, with investments totaling approximately Rs.20 billion. Their focus was largely on sectors such as banking, financial services, insurance, telecom, and metals.
