New Delhi, July 7 -- The death toll in flash floods that swept through central Texas early Friday morning has surged to 78, comprising 28 children, as dozens are still missing, including ten people unaccounted for from Camp Mystic, a summer camp located by the river, while the search operation continues. US President Donald Trump is likely to visit the disaster spot.
According to sheriff of Kerr County in Texas Hill Country, Larry Leitha, flooding in the county, considered the epicentre of the disaster, claimed the lives of 68 people, including 28 children. At a Sunday afternoon press conference, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that an additional 10 people had died in other parts of Texas, while 41 individuals were still missing.
