Bengaluru, Jan. 16 -- Alcohol industry associations have urged the Telangana government to repay long-pending dues of Rs.3,900 crore to state suppliers ahead of the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, saying the issue threatens to deter capital inflows and dent investor confidence.
In a joint statement on 16 January, the Brewers Association of India (BAI), the International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI), and the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC) said the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited's (TGBCL's) dues had crossed Rs.3,900 crore, with about Rs.900 crore pending for over a year.
