New Delhi, March 16 -- After a brief recovery earlier this month, the Indian stock market continued its losing streak in the holiday-shortened week, influenced by mixed global cues.

The 30-share BSE Sensex decreased by 200.85 points (0.27 per cent) to close at 73,828.91, with 22 of its constituents ending lower and eight gaining. The NSE Nifty fell by 73.30 points (0.33 per cent) to settle at 22,397.20.

Over the past week, the Nifty 50 index declined by 0.69 per cent, while the Sensex decreased by 0.68 per cent. Mid-cap stocks experienced a 2.2 per cent drop, and small-cap stocks saw a 3.9 per cent decline.
