New Delhi, April 8 -- The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, opened higher on Tuesday, rebounding from steep losses witnessed in the previous session, amid positive cues from Asian peers.

Asian markets traded higher, with Japan's Nikkei leading the rally in the region. The US stock market ended mixed, with the Nasdaq ending in the green.

All sectors gain in the morning deals on Tuesday, with Nifty Metal, the worst hit yesterday, gaining the most. Nifty IT also rebounded, rising 1.3% around 9.25 am. Nifty Realty also gained following the strong Q4 business updates by its constituents like Godrej Properties and Sobha.
