New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- AKI India Limited shares hit their upper circuit on Saturday, February 1, as Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the government plans to launch a "Focus Product Scheme" for the footwear and leather industry.

The Budget 2025 announcement also said that the government aims to generate 22 lakh jobs, Rs.4 lakh crore in turnover, and exports of over Rs.1.1 lakh crore in India's footwear and leather sector.

"The scheme is expected to facilitate employment for 22 lakh persons, generate turnover of Rs.4 lakh crore and exports of over Rs.1.1 lakh crore," said Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1.
