The rally was fuelled by weaker US labour data, which revived expectations of interest-rate cuts, putting pressure on the dollar and lifting demand for precious metals.

Investors also monitored escalating tensions in Venezuela, adding to the metal's safe-haven appeal. Silver climbed to a fresh all-time high, extending its powerful upward momentum.
