New Delhi, Jan. 22 -- Positive global cues and US President Donald Trump's softer tone on Greenland charged up bulls as the Indian stock market clocked strong gains across segments on Thursday, January 22.
The Sensex jumped over 850 points, or more than 1%, to an intraday high of 82,783, while the Nifty 50, too, rose over 1% to reclaim 25,435. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices jumped almost 2% each.
A sharp rally in the market made investors richer by Rs.7 lakh crore in a session as the overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms rose to nearly Rs.461 lakh crore from Rs.454 lakh crore in the previous session.
